Beschrijving keerzijde An outer pearl border surrounds a circular legend reading KLEINGELDERSATZMARKE, which in turn encloses an inner rope-twist circle. Within the rope circle, the large numeral 2 occupies the central field. Three five-pointed stars are evenly spaced in the lower exergual area between the rope border and the pearl rim, serving as decorative separators. The overall composition is austere and functional, consistent with wartime Notgeld coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

August Kirsch was a tobacco and cigar merchant in Aschaffenburg who issued this notgeld piece during the acute small-change shortage of 1917, when the German government's wartime metal requisitions had pulled copper and nickel coinage almost entirely out of circulation. Zinc was the expedient of last resort for dozens of such private issuers that year. The Hasselmann reference places this among the better-documented Bavarian merchant tokens of the period.
