| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central shield bearing the Nuremberg arms: a diagonal band (bend) charged with the imperial eagle displayed, the whole set within a plain shield outline. The Roman numeral II appears above the shield, denoting the denomination, while the date is divided to either side of the shield's lower portion, reading 16 to the left and 21 (or 22) to the right. The coin's broad flat rim is adorned with a continuous radial or toothed border of short strokes, typical of hammered Nuremberg pfennig coinage of the early seventeenth century. The overall design is struck in low relief consistent with the emergency coinage practices of the Kipper und Wipper period. |
