| Reverse description | Central device features the Guatemalan coat of arms, a quetzal bird perched atop a scroll, flanked by rifles and laurel branches, with the face value divided on either side of the shield. The legend GUATÆ RA S.D.O.M. PROTE arcs along the upper periphery, while the fineness, date, and mint initial 21Q. 1859 R. appear in the lower exergual area. A beaded border frames the entire design. The engraving is precise and characteristic of the Frener workshop style. |
