Opmerkingen

Banco de Caldas was a regional departmental bank operating out of Manizales, and by 1919 its days were numbered. Colombia's 1923 Kemmerer Mission reforms — which restructured the entire banking system and established the Banco de la República — effectively ended the era of departmental and private note-issuing banks. Notes from Caldas printed in this final period saw limited issue windows before redemption obligations began.

The American Bank Note Company contract for this series was typical of Colombian regional banks seeking prestige printing at a time when domestic security printing infrastructure barely existed. ABNC's Colombian departmental work from this period is well documented, though print run figures for Caldas specifically have not surfaced in published records.
