Obverse description The obverse features the Mexican republican eagle displayed at center, perched upon a cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, with a serpent clutched in its beak, rendered in the bold, somewhat primitive engraving style characteristic of Revolutionary-era emergency coinage. A laurel and oak wreath frames the lower portion of the central device. The circular legend reads REPUBLICA MEXICANA along the upper arc, while the denomination DOS PESOS and date 1915 appear along the lower arc, all within a beaded border.
