| Obverse description | The obverse features the Mexican republican eagle displayed at center, perched upon a cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, with a serpent clutched in its beak, rendered in the bold, somewhat primitive engraving style characteristic of Revolutionary-era emergency coinage.
