Opmerkingen

Philippine municipal and provincial emergency notes of 1942 were authorized under the wartime government as Japanese occupation forces disrupted the existing monetary supply. Zamboanga's issues are among the more geographically isolated of these — the city had fallen to Japanese forces by early May 1942, meaning any notes dated 1942 occupied a narrow and contested window of legitimate local authority.

Provincial Philippine emergency currency from this period survives unevenly; Zamboanga issues in particular turn up less frequently than those from larger administrative centers like Cebu or Iloilo.
