Obverse description Central vignette presents a formal portrait of Lieutenant General Bartolomé Mitre, flanked by a facsimile of a handwritten manuscript page from his Historia de Belgrano y de la Independencia Argentina. A vignette of the inner doorway of Mitre's historic residence appears alongside the portrait, set against a fine guilloche underprint in blue and orange tones. The denomination and issuing authority are printed in intaglio lettering.

Reverse description The central vignette presents an intaglio engraving of the facade of the Museo Mitre, the historic Buenos Aires house-museum preserving the former residence of Bartolomé Mitre, rendered in blue against a light guilloche underprint. To the right, an ornate orange guilloche wave frames a biographical inscription and two facsimile signature panels, above which the Argentine national coat of arms appears in the upper right corner. A decorative monogram cartouche reading 'BARTOLOME MITRE' is positioned at the lower centre-right, with the numeral '2' repeated on both lateral margins.
