Opmerkingen

Coron is a municipality on Busuanga Island in Palawan province — about as far from Manila as you can get while still being in the Philippines. During the Japanese occupation, the Manila-based national government was supplanted, and local authorities throughout the archipelago were left to improvise their own emergency currency. Coron's 1943 issues are among the more obscure of these municipal guerrilla-era notes, produced under conditions where printing materials and oversight were both in extremely short supply.

No Pick number has been firmly assigned, which tells you something about how rarely these surface.
