| Opmerkingen |
Negros Occidental was one of several Philippine provinces that issued emergency guerrilla currency after Japanese forces cut off the island economy in 1942. These provincial notes were authorized locally and printed with whatever materials were available — the series is accordingly inconsistent in paper quality and impression sharpness across surviving examples.
The guilloche underprint is notably rudimentary compared to contemporary central bank issues, executed by local presses without the equipment of a professional security printer. Negros Occidental's emergency series is reasonably well documented in Philippine guerrilla currency literature, but individual denominations vary considerably in surviving population.
