Obverse description	The obverse is framed by an intricate guilloche border with ornamental corner pieces bearing the numeral "2". The bank title "BANCO DE SAN LUIS" is printed in bold letterpress at the top centre, below which a serial number panel ("Nº") and series designation appear in a cartouche with decorative rosettes. The body of the note carries the full text of the certificado obligation in letterpress, referencing the Ley of 17 March 1894, with the place "SAN LUIS" and manuscript date, and two signature lines designated "TESORERO" and "PRESIDENTE", accompanied by a violet oval cancellation stamp.

Reverse description	The reverse is entirely covered by a fine guilloche-patterned green underprint border enclosing the full printed text of the provincial law, headed "La Honorable Cámara Legislativa de la Provincia sanciona con fuerza de LEY". The four articles of the law are set in letterpress and detail the government's authorization to purchase Banco de San Luis shares and contract a loan, with a violet stamp partially overlapping the upper text area.
Reverse lettering	La Honorable Cámara Legislativa de la Provincia sanciona con fuerza de- LEY Art. 1°. Dentro de los cuatro meses siguientes á la promulgación de la presente ley, el P. E. adquirirá, comprando las acciones del Banco de San Luis, suscrita por los particulares, por el 85 1/4 de su valor nominal. Art. 2°. Vencido el término señalado por el artículo anterior, las acciones que no hubiesen sido transferidas al Gobierno, serán expropiadas y pagadas según tasación, cesando en consecuencia la representación, beneficios y facultades que les confieren los estatutos del Banco. Art. 3°. Queda autorizado el P. E. para contratar un empréstito con el Banco de San Luis, por la suma de pesos $ 138,244 ciento treinta y ocho mil doscientos cuarenta y cuatro pesos moneda nacional en cuenta especial, al exclusivo objeto de la compra de las acciones. Art. 4°. A los efectos del art. 3° anterior, y como única forma de atender al empréstito, el Banco de San Luis recibirá por cuenta del Gobierno (m/n $ 70) setenta pesos por acción en el pago de créditos a favor de dicho Banco, comisionándose al mismo para que expida certificados al portador por los (m/n $ 15) quince pesos restantes por acción, los que serán recibidos por las receptorías Fiscales de la Provincia, en pago de contribuciones atrasadas hasta 1894 inclusive.
