Obverse description Black on green underprint. At left, an intaglio portrait vignette of Admiral Manuel Blanco Encalada; at centre-right, a finely engraved landscape vignette of a village scene; the National Arms of Chile appear at lower right. Two official handstamps are applied: Type III 'SUPERINTENDENCIA DE LA CASA DE MONEDA' and Type IV 'CONTADURIA MAYOR'.

Reverse description Printed in brown, the reverse is composed entirely of intricate engine-turned guilloche patterns arranged in horizontal registers, with oval and lozenge-shaped medallions interspersed throughout. The central band carries the bold intaglio inscription 'REPUBLICA DE CHILE' within a rectangular cartouche flanked by numeral '2' counters, while a large ornate circular medallion at left bears the denomination numeral. At right, a circular guilloche medallion encloses the legal tender text in small condensed lettering, citing the Law of 10 April 1879.
