Obverse lettering ALFONSO XIII POR LA G•DE DIOS *1892*
Reverse description The quartered coat of arms of Spain occupies the central field, displaying the traditional castles of Castile and lions of León, with the Granada pomegranate in base and a small oval escutcheon of the House of Bourbon in the center. The shield is surmounted by the royal crown and flanked on either side by the Pillars of Hercules, each bearing a banner inscribed PLUS and ULTRA respectively, with the mint master initials at the base of each pillar. The circular legend REY CONST. DE ESPANA runs around the upper periphery, while the denomination 2 PESETAS is inscribed along the lower rim. A toothed border frames the entire design.
