备注

Aitona is a small municipality in the Segrià comarca of Lleida, and like hundreds of Catalan towns it issued its own emergency paper money during the Spanish Civil War after the collapse of metallic currency in circulation. These local issues — collectively catalogued under the broader "guerra civil" series — were produced under municipal authority with no central oversight, which is why physical quality and design vary so dramatically from one town to the next. Aitona's issues are among the more obscure Catalan locals, and the 2 pesetas denomination on card stock suggests improvised production with whatever materials the ajuntament had available.
