| 裏面の説明 | The crowned coat of arms of Montenegro, displayed on a draped royal mantle, occupies the central field. An oak branch extends to the left and a laurel branch to the right of the armorial device, symbolizing strength and victory. The peripheral legend in Cyrillic and Latin script carries the kingdom name, denomination, date, and the ESSAI designation marking this piece as a trial strike. |

Montenegro's monetary independence effectively ended with the Austrian occupation of January 1916. This trial strike — dated 1915 — was produced as the kingdom was collapsing around it, making regular issue impossible. Whether it was struck in Montenegro or abroad during the exile of Nikola's government remains an open question among specialists.
KM#Pn6 is one of several pattern and trial pieces from this final period, most of which never progressed to circulation coinage.
