Obverse description The Hungarian Royal coat of arms displayed centrally in the field, surmounted by the Holy Crown of Saint Stephen, the apostolic double cross rising from the crown's apex. The shield is divided, bearing the traditional Hungarian fess of Árpád stripes on the dexter and the patriarchal cross on a triple mount on the sinister. The circular legend ·MAGYAR·KIRÁLYSÁG· (Kingdom of Hungary) runs along the upper periphery, with the mint year flanked by interpuncts along the lower portion of the legend. The whole is rendered in a clean, relief style consistent with early 1940s Hungarian coinage.
