Reverse description A Red-billed Chough (Pyrrhocorax pyrrhocorax) depicted in dynamic flight, wings fully spread, rendered in a stylised Celtic-inspired decorative idiom with interlaced foliate and scroll motifs surrounding the bird in the field. The design, engraved by Leslie Lindsay, fills the entire reverse with bold relief work against a mirror-polished proof background. The denomination numeral 2 appears in ornate Celtic script at the base of the design, integrated harmoniously into the decorative border elements. A small privy mark appears in the upper left field on the 1982 issue.
