| 背面描述 | A peregrine falcon, depicted standing in full profile facing left with detailed feather treatment, is centred within an ornamental heraldic shield. The shield is surmounted by a thistle bloom and flanked by elaborate foliate and floral scrollwork in high relief, referencing the quincentenary of the College of Arms. The denomination numeral 2 appears in the lower compartment of the shield, below the falcon's talons, engraved by Leslie Lindsay. |

The College of Arms received its royal charter from Richard III in 1484, making 1984 the quincentenary this coin commemorates. Pobjoy Mint — operating independently from the Royal Mint and holding its own royal warrant — produced this platinum proof for the Isle of Man market, where it was legally struck as currency despite having no realistic circulation purpose. The .950 platinum specification places it among a small category of 1980s commemorative proofs using platinum at a time when the metal was far less common in numismatic issues than it would later become.
