Reverse description The crowned quartered arms of Austria-Burgundy-Brabant are displayed within an ornate polylobe or cusped frame, surmounted by a royal crown. The shield bears the diagonal stripes of Burgundy in the upper-left and lower-right quarters, the Brabant lion rampant in the lower-left quarter, and the Austrian bend in the upper-right quarter, all rendered in the characteristic style of the Spanish Netherlands. The date 1593 appears within the peripheral legend, which runs around the entire circumference of the coin.
