| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field displays the arms of the Prince-Bishopric of Liège — a quartered shield bearing the perron and the arms of Bouillon — surmounted by two crested helmets with elaborate mantling, a distinctive double-helm design characteristic of the late medieval Liégeois coinage of John of Hornes. A lion passant or similar heraldic supporter is visible to the right of the shield. The surrounding circular legend in Gothic uncial characters reads the bishop's full titulature, identifying him as John of Hornes, Bishop of Liège, Duke of Bouillon, and Count of Looz. The coin is struck on an irregular flan with a beaded inner border. |
