Obverse description Central field occupied by the rampant lion of Brabant facing left, depicted with elaborate mane and raised forepaw, set within a beaded inner circle. The lion is surmounted by a crown of Burgundian style, rendered in fine detail characteristic of late-medieval hammered coinage. A horizontal line beneath the lion suggests a ground line or baseline element. The circumferential legend in Gothic uncial script reads the ruler's titulature, separated by pellet stops, running between the inner beaded circle and the outer rim of the flan.
