Obverse description The obverse displays the Montenegrin state coat of arms: a displayed double-headed eagle with spread wings, each head facing outward, surmounted by a single royal crown with cross finial. A heraldic shield at the centre of the eagle's breast bears a lion passant. The eagle's talons hold a sceptre to the left and an orb to the right. The entire design is contained within a beaded border, with no peripheral legend, the field otherwise plain.
