| Obverse description | Central oval vignette contains a portrait of the ruling Thakur of Rajkot, set within an ornate letterpress-printed border with guilloche corner rosettes and repeated "RAJKOT STATE" inscriptions along the inner frame. A cartouche at the top carries the Gujarati legend જનરલ સ્ટેમ્પ (General Stamp), while the denomination is given in a cartouche at the foot; the ruler's title appears in vertical Gujarati script along the left margin and the state name along the right margin. The entire design is printed in purple-violet ink on buff paper. |

Rajkot was a minor thikana-level state in the Kathiawar Agency, and its paper currency issues from the early 1940s are among the more obscure fiscal instruments from the Princely States period. The timing — wartime, with metal coinage increasingly diverted toward the war effort — almost certainly drove the decision to issue low-denomination paper for local transactions.
Surviving examples are genuinely rare, as small-denomination notes from minor states circulated hard and were rarely preserved.
