Obverse description Central field features a large sacred conch shell (shankha) depicted in profile, surmounted by a stylised crown or flame finial, rendered in high relief. The conch, a principal emblem of the Travancore royal house and an attribute of Lord Vishnu (Padmanabha), is flanked on either side by a symmetrical wreath of laurel or olive branches, their stems tied at the base with a crossed arrangement of ceremonial weapons or arrows. The entire design is enclosed within a raised beaded border, with no inscriptional legend on this face.
