| 背面描述 | The field bears four lines of inscription arranged within an ornamental laurel wreath tied at the base with crossed stems. The uppermost line reads TRAVANCORE in Latin capitals arching along the upper periphery; below it the date 1877 in Arabic numerals; then the royal cypher R.V. (for Rama Varma) in bold Latin letters; and finally the denomination പുതിയ പഗോഡ (Puthiya Pagoda, meaning 'New Pagoda') in Malayalam script. Additional Malayalam characters appear along the lower arc within the wreath, and the whole is enclosed by a beaded border. The layout reflects the bilingual administrative tradition of the Travancore princely state. |
