| Obverse description | Right-facing bare-headed effigy of King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV at centre, depicted in military collar dress. A circular legend surrounding the portrait reads CORONATION 4TH JULY 1967 and TAUFA'AHAU TUPOU IV, separated by small crown ornaments forming a decorative border. A counterstamp featuring the royal cypher TTIV flanked by the dates 1918 and 1968 appears to the left of the effigy in the field. The overall composition is bold and medallic in style, with the king's likeness rendered in high relief. |

| Reverse description | The full Royal Arms of Tonga occupies the central field, featuring a shield divided into four quarters bearing a crown, three crossed swords, a dove with olive branch, and a six-pointed star with a cross; the shield is surmounted by a royal crown within a laurel wreath. Two warriors bearing Tongan national flags serve as supporters on either side. A scroll at the base carries the national motto MO TONGA KO HOKU in the central ribbon, flanked by secondary motto scrolls. The denomination TWO PA'ANGA arcs across the upper field, and the issuer name TONGA appears in the lower exergue. The reverse is bordered by a fine beaded inner rim. |
