Beschrijving voorzijde Within a wreath of crossed laurel and olive branches, the royal cypher 'FRS' (Fredericus Rex Sueciae) appears in raised block letters at center. A large royal crown surmounts the cypher, its arches and jeweled band rendered in fine relief. The field is plain and unlettered, with the entire design enclosed by a beaded border. The composition is bold and heraldic, typical of early 18th-century Swedish coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Frederick I spent most of his reign as a figurehead king under the parliamentary faction system known as the Age of Liberty, with real power held by the Riksdag's competing Hat and Cap parties. The 1732 issue falls squarely within Hat party dominance, a period of mercantilist expansion and costly foreign adventurism that drained Swedish silver reserves and pushed small denomination coinage toward increasingly debased billon alloys.

The .444 fineness of this piece reflects that fiscal pressure directly.
