Obverse description The obverse of this square copper klippe displays the royal cipher of Gustav II Adolf — the interlaced letters G, A, and R (Gustavus Adolphus Rex) — in monogram form at the center of the field. A royal crown surmounts the cipher, rendered in bold relief against the roughly textured surface. The mint initial 'S' (for Säter) appears below the monogram. The entire design is struck on an irregular square planchet typical of early Swedish emergency coinage, with the legends abbreviated to the monogram elements flanking the central device.
