| Obverse description | Crowned effigy of King Gustav Vasa facing right, rendered in the crude but vigorous style typical of mid-16th-century Swedish hammered coinage. The royal portrait is enclosed within a rope circle (inner border), with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery of the coin in the outer field. The lettering is separated by colons serving as punctuation marks, a common convention of the period. |
