| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, a crowned royal shield bearing the Vasa sheaf divides the date, one element on each side of the shield. A continuous Latin legend occupies the outer field, running along the full circumference of the coin. The design is characteristic of early seventeenth-century Swedish hammered coinage, with the crowned shield rendered in a bold, compact heraldic style typical of the Gustav II Adolf period. |
