| 背面描述 | Central medallion features the Chinese characters 二兩 (Two Nyang) enclosed within a plain raised circle, set against a lightly polished field. Flanking the central cartouche are two symmetrical sprays of flowering plum blossoms, their branches tied together at the base with a decorative ribbon bow. A stylized circular emblem, possibly representing the Korean taeguk or yin-yang symbol, is positioned at the apex above the central circle. The overall design is delicate and refined, consistent with late 19th-century East Asian pattern coinage aesthetics. |

The 2 Nyang pattern was produced amid Korea's fraught engagement with foreign monetary advisors in the mid-1880s, when the Joseon court was simultaneously receiving pressure from Japan, China, and Western powers to modernize its coinage system. This piece dates to the same period as the Joseon government's establishment of the Jeonhwanguk mint in 1883 — Korea's first mechanized mint — which operated with German-supplied equipment and technical staff.
KM#Pn15 status confirms this as a pattern rather than a circulating issue, almost certainly produced as a presentation or trial striking. White metal patterns from this transitional phase are rarely encountered outside major institutional collections.
