| Obverse description | The obverse features a bold, split-field design contrasting a frosted left half against a mirrored right half, with the large numeral '2' dominating the centre of the field. To the right of the numeral, the denomination is inscribed in three lines in Hebrew (שקלים חדשים) and Latin (NEW SHEQALIM). In the upper right quadrant, the State of Israel emblem — a menorah flanked by olive branches with the legend ישראל — appears in relief. A stylised olive branch decorates the lower left field, with the mint mark מ (Mem, for the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation) below.
