Issued to mark Israel's growing prominence in international judo competition — the sport being one of the few in which Israeli athletes have historically been permitted to compete under their own flag without incident at major tournaments. The 2007 date places this issue ahead of Arik Ze'evi's bronze at the 2004 Athens Olympics and Yael Arad's 1992 silver in Barcelona, both of which drove the sport's cultural weight in Israel considerably.
