正面描述 At center-left, a contemporary Kiddush cup featuring clean, straight lines and a minimalist design, crafted by Jerusalem silversmith Zelig Segal. The denomination legend '2 NEW SHEQALIM' appears in Hebrew and English within the field. Along the upper border, the issuer name 'ISRAEL' is inscribed in Hebrew (ישראל), Arabic (اسرائيل), and Latin script, forming a trilingual legend characteristic of Israeli coinage. The overall composition reflects the modern Judaic artistic tradition, emphasizing geometric simplicity and craftsmanship.

附加信息

The Kiddush Cup coin belongs to the Judaic Art series launched by the Bank of Israel in 1987, each issue pairing a denomination with a specific object from Jewish ceremonial life. The series was conceived partly as a cultural documentation project — an official numismatic record of ritual objects that survived displacement, war, and the near-destruction of European Jewish communities in the twentieth century.

The Kiddush cup itself carries particular weight in this framing: many of the finest historical examples now held in Israeli museums were brought to the country by immigrants who carried them out of Europe during or after the Holocaust.
