| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a dynamic, stylized low-relief scene depicting the biblical narrative of Elijah's ascent into heaven, rendered in a bold linear artistic style reminiscent of ancient Near Eastern relief art. At center, a fiery chariot drawn by a rearing horse with flaming hooves surges upward, its wheel visible at lower center. The prophet Elijah stands in the chariot, his robes billowing, arms outstretched as he is swept heavenward by sweeping whirlwind motifs that curl across the upper field. In the lower left, the figure of Elisha kneels with arms raised, bearing witness to the miraculous ascension. The entire composition fills the coin's field to the rim, with no inscriptions on the reverse, allowing the dramatic pictorial narrative to occupy the full flan. |
