The "Arranged in Order" (通) series of Joseon cash coinage was produced by multiple government bureaus simultaneously, each mint adding its own reverse marks to distinguish output — a bureaucratic solution to chronic copper shortages that had repeatedly collapsed earlier uniform coinage schemes. The 2 Mun denomination saw expanded production under King Yeongjo as part of his administration's renewed push to normalize a money economy in a kingdom where grain and cloth had stubbornly persisted as preferred exchange media well into the 18th century.
Individual pieces vary considerably by issuing office, identified through reverse mint and batch characters.
