| Popis líce | Cast copper cash coin of the standard East Asian round-with-square-hole format. The central square perforation is framed by a raised inner rim, around which four Chinese characters in regular script (kaishu) are arranged in cruciform fashion: 常 (above), 寶 (right), 平 (below), and 通 (left), together reading 常平通寶 — the inscription of the Joseon Sangpyeongtong Bao series denoting 'Ever-Normal Circulating Treasure.' The characters are rendered in a small-type style characteristic of the 1742–1752 issue period, with raised relief against a plain, unadorned field. A wide, slightly convex outer rim encircles the design. |
