The characters are boldly rendered in the large-type style characteristic of this issue, set within a broad flat field enclosed by a raised outer rim. | Descripción del reverso | Round cast copper cash coin with a central square perforation and raised inner and outer rims enclosing a broad, largely plain field. A single large Chinese character 捴 (Chong, referencing the issuing office — the General Military Office) appears in the upper position above the square hole, and the character 宇 (u, indicating the 'space' series designation) is placed in the lower position below the hole, both rendered in bold regular script. The remaining quadrants of the field are blank, consistent with the mint mark and series notation conventions of Joseon-period Sangpyeong Tongbo coinage. The surface shows typical patination from casting and circulation. |
