Obverse description Central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters arranged in cruciform layout within a circular cast flan. Reading top to bottom and right to left, the inscription reads 常平通寶 (Sangpyeong Tongbo), referencing the Joseon Dynasty's Sangpyeong Agency. The characters are rendered in a standard clerical script style typical of Joseon cash coinage, with 常 (Sang) at top, 平 (Pyeong) at bottom, 通 (Tong) at right, and 寶 (Bo) at left, all within a plain inner and outer rim.
