| Obverse description | Central device depicts a chinthe, the mythical Burmese lion-griffin, shown in profile facing left in a crouching-rampant posture with an elaborately detailed mane, open jaws, and a curled flamlike tail. The chinthe stands upon a ground line, rendered in fine relief characteristic of the Mandalay Mint's milled coinage. Burmese script legends arranged in a circular field around the central device, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. |
