| Reverse description | The reverse field is entirely filled with the Shi'a Islamic profession of faith rendered in bold Nasta'liq calligraphic script, disposed in three horizontal registers separated by ruled lines. The upper register bears the shahada declaring the unity of God; the central register names the Prophet Muhammad as the Messenger of God; and the lower register proclaims Ali as the Wali of God, a hallmark of Safavid Twelver Shi'a coinage. The deeply incised legends extend nearly to the rim, with characteristic late Safavid cursive flourishes animating the field. |
