| Reverse description | A plain cross pattée divides the reverse field into four quarters, with a small central ornament at the intersection. Within the quarters appears the Brabant lion or a simplified heraldic device. A beaded inner circle frames the cross design, and a circular legend in late Gothic uncial script runs between the inner and outer beaded borders, bearing the devotional inscription SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTUM ('Blessed be the name of the Lord'), a standard pious formula employed on Low Countries billon coinage of the period. |
