Reverse description A bold cross pattee with wide, flared arms dominates the field, with four rounded lobes filling the quadrants formed by the cross arms, giving the design a distinctly cusped, quatrefoil appearance. At the center of the cross, a stylized lily (fleur-de-lis) is enclosed within a small lozenge or diamond frame, serving as the central ornament. The legend is contained within a beaded border encircling the entire design. The overall composition is typical of the small billon mites struck for circulation in the Burgundian Low Countries during the reign of Charles the Bold.
