| 表面の説明 | Uniformed bust of Emperor Wilhelm II facing right, depicted in military dress with collar detailing, set within a beaded border. The effigy is rendered in high relief with naturalistic portraiture showing the Emperor's characteristic mustache and short hair. The circular legend reads WILHELM II DEVTSCHER KAISER KOENIG V. PREUSSEN, divided around the portrait. A small engraver's initial is visible in the lower field near the truncation. The overall design reflects the medallic style characteristic of Karl Goetz's work. |

Schaaf 111/G3 is one of several pattern submissions evaluated in 1913 as Prussia considered revising its circulating coinage ahead of the 25th anniversary of Wilhelm II's reign. Patterns from this period were produced in very small numbers — often single digits — and distributed almost exclusively among mint officials and the Kaiser's immediate circle for approval review. Most never reached a production decision at all.
The Prussian pattern series of 1913 remains incompletely catalogued; Schaaf's work is the primary reference, but attribution of individual specimens continues to shift as private collections surface.
