背面描述 The spread Hohenzollern imperial eagle displayed with wings outstretched, head turned to the right, and a crowned heraldic shield bearing the Prussian arms on its breast, flanked by ornate laurel and oak sprays tied below. An imperial crown surmounts the eagle at the top of the design. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs around the upper field, flanked by small six-pointed stars, while the date 1901 appears to the right and the denomination ZWEI MARK is inscribed along the lower portion of the field. The entire design is contained within a beaded inner border.

附加信息

This piece marks the bicentennial of the Kingdom of Prussia, commemorating Frederick I's assumption of the royal title on January 18, 1701. Wilhelm II used the occasion deliberately — the 1901 celebrations were as much about consolidating Hohenzollern dynastic prestige within the German Empire as they were about historical reflection. The commemorative was struck at multiple Prussian mints, identifiable by their mint marks, and issued for circulation rather than purely as a presentation piece.

J#105 distinguishes this from the regular-issue 2 Mark types in the Jaeger catalog. Proof strikes exist and command a significant premium over business strikes.
