Reverse description At center, the denomination and issuer name are arranged in four lines within an open wreath of tropical palm fronds tied at the base with a ribbon bow, reading '2 / NEU-GUINEA / MARK / 1894'. The legend 'NEU-GUINEA COMPAGNIE' arcs along the upper periphery in capital serif letters. The mint mark 'A' for the Berlin Mint appears below the wreath tie at the base of the field. A beaded inner border frames the entire design, consistent with the obverse. The reverse was engraved by Emil Weigand in a restrained, typographic style that complements the naturalistic obverse.
