Vorderseitenbeschreibung The obverse is printed in black and red on cream paper within a double-ruled border. The upper panel carries the issuing authority text in Gothic script, with the town name 'Guhrau' in large display lettering and the denomination 'Zwei Mark' in bold blackletter below. The central vignette presents the town's heraldic coat of arms: a crowned female figure holding a sword and a wheel, flanked by two crenellated towers, all set against an elaborate acanthus scroll surround with a fortified gate motif above. The denomination numeral '2' appears in ornate cartouches at left and right, with the account designation 'Konto C' and town name 'Guhrau' in the lower panel alongside the printed serial number.

Rückseitenbeschreibung The reverse is printed in black and red on cream paper within a decorative border of stylised acanthus scrollwork in red and beige. The central vignette presents a panoramic bird's-eye view of the town of Guhrau, rendered in fine line engraving, with a prominent Gothic church tower dominating the right side of the townscape and rooftops extending to the horizon. A caption panel at the foot of the vignette carries the town name and date in bold blackletter, with the denomination numeral '2' in a small cartouche at lower left and a monogram device at lower right.

Anmerkungen

Guhrau — now Góra in southwestern Poland — was a small Silesian market town whose municipal savings bank joined the wave of German Kleingeldscheine issuance during the hyperinflationary spiral of 1922. Carl Flemming & T. C. Wiskott in nearby Glogau handled enormous volumes of notgeld work for Silesian municipalities during this period, which kept unit costs low but meant designs were rarely bespoke.

The Sparkasse designation is worth noting: these were savings institutions, not commercial banks, issuing emergency small-change notes because coin had effectively vanished from circulation.
