Obverse description Central field features a framed rectangular cartouche containing a passant lion to the right, the traditional heraldic device of Schleiz, rendered in low relief against a plain ground. The date 1922 appears above the cartouche flanked by the denomination numeral 2 to the left and the cursive Mark abbreviation M to the right. Below the cartouche, the municipal coat of arms of Schleiz is depicted. The circular legend STADT SCHLEIZ runs around the periphery, interrupted at top and bottom, with a beaded border encircling the entire design.
