Reverse description At center, a large crowned imperial double-headed eagle with spread wings is depicted, its breast charged with a shield bearing the Hohenzollern arms. The eagle is rendered in sharp, high-relief detail characteristic of the Imperial German coinage style. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs across the upper field, flanked by the date 1880 to the right, while the denomination ZWEI MARK appears in the lower exergue. Small five-pointed stars flank the legend at lower left and right, and a star appears before and after the upper legend as decorative punctuation.
