Obverse description Central field displays the heraldic lion of Meissen rampant to the right, grasping a lance or staff, positioned beside a crenellated tower, the whole device representing the city arms. The denomination numeral '2' appears prominently in the lower central field, flanked by decorative foliate elements, with the word 'MARK' inscribed below. The legend 'MEISSEN' curves around the upper periphery in large spaced Latin letters, following the contour of the coin.
