Ulrika Eleonora the Younger died in November 1741, and this commemorative was struck the following year to mark her funeral — a distinction worth noting, since Swedish memorial coinages of this period frequently lagged the actual death by months. She had relinquished the throne to her husband Frederick I in 1720 after the Riksdag stripped her of absolute power, making her reign one of the shortest and most politically constrained in Swedish history. The coin commemorates her burial, not her rule.
